Delhi and Rains..

Our girls, Priyoshi and Amiya, give us a quick glance of what Monsoon to us is all about..

Delhi is the heart of India. We Delhi-ites since forever have been at the receiving ends of the highs and lows of nature. Monsoon to be precise is one such season. We love monsoon. After months of scorching heat rain comes as a blessing in disguise. Being a college student, Rain comes as awesomeness wrapped in times of fun and masti. It’s the exact season where love blossoms, the child in you glows, Chaats and Samosas take a roll, the ‘bheeni bheeni mehek’ of geeli mitti and a ‘Garam Chai’ makes you think life can’t be better. With the planned Greenery all across Delhi, Monsoon makes it Lush Green. Beauty lies in the eyes of beholder, and when those drops fall on those leaves that is the exact beauty our eyes wait for the entire year. And not to forget, the misty view from Hauz Khas village is another perk 😉

But is rain in Delhi a real Boon? Is it really to Romanticized or are we forgetting the endless cons that come along.

With “effective Construction, cleanliness and a system that refuses to work”, Monsoon is not really something we residents wait for anymore. A five minute Rain converts into a Five hour Traffic Jam in seconds. Water Logging and the cultivation of millions of germs and bacteria, don’t portray a beautiful picture too. Poor Dads and Moms who spend an entire day in office working and then are struck for hours in the endless traffic!! Schools, Colleges, Offices, there is an air of disappointment. Lately monsoon does not feel like monsoon anymore. How we wish there could be something done to curb these little issues so we could all go back to the time where rain was still our favorite.

Apart from all the tits and bits that come with Monsoon, nothing beats the Pakoras  with family. I think for years we Indians have associated rain with the Official Snack Time. Our childhood smells of the delicious varieties. As far as We are concerned Rain is the time where we like to sense the nature from the Horse’s mouth. Akhir bearish mein na bheege to kab bheege!

Rain is not only drops of water…

It’s the love of sky and earth..

They never meet each other..

So, by the end of this monsoon go crazy with you friends and family.
